About Me.. and those around me

Beginning
So, this is the first Journal I write and it is sort of strange. I have tried before keeping a journal, but it never lasts for much. Maybe it's because I'm busy, or because I forget, or because I have nothing to talk about on certain days. So, I will only write when something is worth writing about. So, tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and no, I didn't start a journal because i'm crying the blues about not having a date or anything of that sort. As a matter of fact, I could care less about it. I'm probably going to be too busy to even remember. I'm writing for other reasons, like how stressed I have been lately and how (I'm sure it has happened to you)nothing is going right for some reason. It is really upsetting and I've been trying to vent off regularly. But, hey it'll will be all better soon. Although I may sound like a complainer as far as you've read, this is actually not the real me. I'm 99% of the time bubbly and happy and trying to make others feel better, but you know that sometimes we have days, or even weeks, when the whole world seems to tilt against you. We're only human, and we are bound to have lousy days sometimes.

Well, enough about this, I think that was good therapy for now. I will tell you about my experience so far from college. I live in Miami and now I study in Michigan, so, as you can imagine, I am living here all by myself. As overwhelming as it may sounds, it's actually not too bad, and I actually like it...a lot. I like the freedom I have: to make my own choices as to where I want to go and do next. It's a great feeling. But, as you already know, all freedom comes with responsibility. I sound just like my mother; unbelievable. I'm learned so much lately and I really enjoy the variety of people that live around me. Like, for example, my friend and hallmate Celine, she has Belgian descent and is fluent in French. Then there is my future roommate Zara. She is amazing. Really smart and has an awesome personality, oh, and she's learning Japanese, how cool is that? I'm going to ask her to teach me Japanese curse words sometime. Nicole is from the UP (Upper Peninsula) and she is such a nice girl. Really pretty too. I don't know if she realizes it, but she is. My roommate, Ilana. She's funny and intelligent and her family is awesome. Her dad authored a book not long ago (I think) and he is a well-known biologist. Then there's more people I relate to whom I love and care for deeply: Salome, Glendale, Robert, Andrew Cheng, Brian Chiu, Dominic, Kyr, Juliana, Scott, etc. I will tell you more about them soon, but for now I have to do homework. BLEH!
